Kalpandu League Chennai is a unique and very special football program organized by BBT India with generous support from LatentView Analytics in Chennai. This program was designed especially for children from underprivileged and underserved communities who usually do not get many opportunities to play sports or participate in organized activities.
The main idea of the league was to provide a platform for children to develop their sports skills, particularly in football, while also learning important life skills such as teamwork, discipline, confidence, and leadership. The league also aimed to bring children from different social and economic backgrounds together, creating an inclusive environment where everyone could participate, learn, and have fun regardless of their personal circumstances.
Sports build teamwork, courage, discipline, confidence, dreams, hope, unity, strength, joy, growth.
Through this project, many children discovered their hidden talents, built self-confidence, learned the value of teamwork and leadership, and most importantly, felt that they too had a place in the world of sports.
A total of 50 government schools and 10 private schools took part in the league. With support from the Department of Education and school teachers, children were selected, trained, and coached to play football in an organized and professional way.
The BBT team, along with coaches and mentors, helped children practice regularly, build their football skills, and prepare for the matches. Matches were conducted in a safe and inclusive environment, making the league exciting and educational.
The program helped children learn new skills, gain confidence, and make friends across schools. The league was also covered widely in local and national media, showing its big success and positive change in the community.
