The Bachpan Rahega Bachpan – Child Labour Free Jaipur initiative was conceptualised and led as a comprehensive community outreach program aimed at eradicating child labour in the city. The campaign adopted a dual approach, combining a school contact program with direct community engagement to create awareness and drive behavioural change. To capture attention and communicate effectively, a powerful theatrical presentation was designed and performed across 60 schools (50 government and 10 private), reaching nearly 30,000 students with the message of protecting childhood.
Alongside the school campaign, the program extended into neighbourhoods with 120 focused community sessions that facilitated direct dialogue with residents. These interactions sensitised families to the harsh realities of child labour and mobilised them to protect children’s rights in their own communities. By combining creative awareness tools with grassroots engagement, the initiative built momentum towards making Jaipur a truly child labour–free city, ensuring that every child’s right to a safe and joyful childhood is protected.
